All examination candidates will receive a letter by post. This will be sent by fast post over the next few days. Those who passed and who have been accepted for registration on the Register of Midwives will also receive their Certificate of Registration and a package of information including an application for a practising certificate.

Practising certificates

We are aware that  some midwives wish to commence work as soon as possible. Please note:

  • all applications for practising certificates will be treated as urgent;

  • applications will be processed as they are received;

  • in fairness to all, we do not respond to requests to queue jump;

  • we do NOT accept faxed applications;

  • you can check your status as to registration and issue of practising certificate on the on-line Register on this website. You are entitled to practise when you are shown on the Register as holding a current practising certificate but you will not receive your practising certificate card for 2 to 3 weeks after your practising certificate has been approved.
