Please contact us at info@midwiferycouncil.org.nz if you have any questions about this aspect of your application.

Midwives qualified overseas must satisfy Council that their pre-registration education together with post-registration experience and any further training equips them with clinical and theoretical skills and knowledge which is at least equivalent to the competencies of a New Zealand graduate at point of entry to the Register. Applicants are not expected to have the competencies which are unique to midwifery in New Zealand.  Please see the relevant section of the Notes accompanying the application form for information about post-registration education requirements and also for what might happen if you do not meet the requirements or if there is insufficient evidence to determine equivalence.
