Susan Yorke, Chief Executive and Registrar
Before joing the Midwifery Council, first as Registrar then as CEO and Registrar, Susan spent ten years in Golden Bay establishing and running her own legal practice. Now that her three children are adults, she is enjoying the stimulation of all that Wellington has to offer. Susan has a BA in Political Science and an LLB both from Canterbury University. Her legal experience together with management skills developed in running her own business and her training in negotiation and mediation have been invaluable in supporting the work of the Midwifery Council. Susan completed the Master of Public Management programme at Victoria University in 2009.

Nick Bennie, Deputy Registrar
Nick has a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University and has extensive management experience in various government departments. Most recently Nick was the Registrar of Radio Frequencies in the Ministry of Economic Development. Nick's skills in commercial law, management and statutory regulation will also be invaluable to the Council. Nick was born and bred in Wellington and is married with two children.

Marilyn Pierson, Accounts and Registration
Marilyn has a background in accounting and is a member of the NZICA College of Accounting Technicians. Prior to joining the Council, she worked at Victoria University in the Finance Department and joined the Council to improve her daily work variety by doing more than just number crunching! Marilyn lives in Woodwridge with her partner Jason and a mischievous maine coon cat, Rocky. She is a keen golfer and enjoys competitive match play.

Andy Crosby, EA to Susan Yorke and Administration
Andy joined the Council in February 2007 with a background in office and industrial recruitment and relationship management roles. She currently lives in Greytown in the Wairarapa with her delightful five year old son.

Sue Calvert, Midwifery Advisor
A New Zealand qualified midwife, Sue has held a number of diverse roles. From core to LMC midwife; from research fellow to Midwifery staff professional development. Sue's most recent experience however has been as a Change Project Manager. Born in the UK, Sue has lived most of her life in and around Wellington and has one daughter. Sue has a M.Phil in Midwifery from Massey and a B.Com from Canterbury.
