We also suggest you check out the website of the New Zealand College of Midwives - the professional association for midwives in New Zealand - for more information about what you can expect.  The website address is www.midwife.org.nz; click on the 'For Midwives' tab.  You can also find information about District Health Boards including maps and links at www.moh.govt.nz/districthealthboards. The Department of Immigration's website www.immigration.govt.nz has some generic information about life in New Zealand.

Getting a job

We cannot help you get a job but if you are looking for one please send us your application for registration as soon as you can. Even if you are offered an employment contract you cannot work until you are registered and hold a practising certificate.  These are two separate processes.  Having a job offer has no bearing on your registration application and we regret there is no 'fast track' process for applicants who have a job arranged.
